The population of Mońki is about 11000. This town is situated on the main road Białystok- Ełk. There is a bus station and a railway station. There is also an easy connection with Białystok (44 km), Grajewo (36 km) and Ełk (56 km). From Warsaw there are direct and easy connection by rail (express trains and Wars sleeping cars). A network of good roads guarantees a comfortable journey from anywhere in Poland. The inhabitants of that region have not had to encounter the problems caused by pollution of water and the environment yet.
